Pretty Lights- We Must Go On (Music Video)

Check out the latest single from Pretty Lights, the electronic genius from Colorado. Derek Vincent Smith's (Pretty Lights) latest song closely follows his traditional soulful mood over a hip-hop/electronic beat as a vocal sample continuously reminds us that "times will get better." The video was filmed and edited by Pretty Lights and his creative director, Krystle Blackburn, as they show footage of their travels all around the world.

GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES!

Giraffes? Giraffes! As you can tell by the album artwork (below), this band is way out of the ordinary. First off, this math rock experiment is composed of two musicians. Joseph Andreoli on guitar and Ken Topham on the drums. And yet with only two members, the band is able to create a ridiculously unique sound that is equally full and easy to listen to. Shortly after forming the band, they released the album SUPERBASS!!!! which is nearly impossible to find on the internet. Next, they came out with their second, more popular, album More Skin With Milk-Mouth in December of 2007. So, the duo has been around for a while now but have gained a lot less popularity then what is deserved. This is where they perfected there sound using an array of time signatures that even skilled musicians may have a hard time following. They really have embraced the Math Rock genre and are, in my opinion, the new pioneers of it as a whole. Their sound really can only be described through listening because words fail to describe the intense cuts and crescendos that Ken has decided to pour into the music because of his collegiate studies in music. The band has also just released the album Pink Magick (2011) (No that wasn't a typo) and have gained even more popularity through it. Their new album once again breaks new ground on the math rock scene. If only they would get more credit for it! Remember, there really are only two people on their tracks and there is no studio magic because they do every song in one take. Now that takes skill.

Months following the release of a preview trailer for Cudi's new short film based on the song "Maniac", we finally get to see the Shia Labeouf directed masterpiece. Perfect for a Halloween release, the Maniac Vid follows the story of 2 brutal killers and their exploits. WARNING: this video is not suitable for children under 18! The graphic nature of the song and video present images that are highly disputed, but Labeouf creates a work of art with this short film. With a worldwide tour, How to Make It In America, Wizard, Man on the Moon 3, and much more on his plate, Kid Cudi has established himself as a legendary musician and a highly respectable actor with this video.

MAC MILLER NEW SINGLE- PARTY ON 5TH AVENUE

Party on 5th Avenue is Mac Miller's latest single off of his upcoming album Blue Slide Park which is set to drop on November 8th. Mac just dropped this music video and as always, he doesn't disappoint. Known for his upbeat and joking manner, Mac Miller grew to fame from his videos, such as the classic "Senior Skip Day", "Knock Knock" and more recently, "Frick Park Market". Party on 5th Avenue shows Mac Miller dressed as an elderly man who causes trouble with his friends. Despite being only 19 years old, Mac shows us old school hip-hop at its finest in this Most Dope video. Thumbs Up!

I've been following Cryptex on Soundcloud for several months now after discovering his Glitch Mob- "Drive It Like You Stole It Remix." This 18 year-old out of Los Angeles has found his niche in Glitch-Hop and creates his own "reglitched" version of several mainstream tracks. With "The Glitch Anthem," Cryptex takes his original Glitch Mob remix and mashes it with sounds and vocals from Skrillex, Drake, Kraddy and more. This Glitch Anthem perfectly describes Cryptex's unique sound and the Glitch-Hop genre. Cryptex dropped his debut EP Isolated Incidents on 10/11 which can be found here.
